Nigerian Army Recruitment 89RRI 2025 Registration Form

The Nigerian Army has officially opened online registration for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI) Recruitment Exercise for both Trades and Non-Tradesmen and women. The application period runs from March 31, 2025 to May 17, 2025 and the form is completely FREE for all eligible applicants. This update was announced on the Nigerian Army’s official X page (X.com/@HQNigerianArmy).

Basic Entry Requirements for Candidates

To qualify for recruitment into the Nigerian Army, applicants must meet these essential requirements:

    • Be single, a Nigerian citizen by birth, and possess a National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
    • Meet the Nigerian Army’s medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards, and have no criminal convictions.
    • Hold at least four passes (including English Language) in WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS, obtained in no more than two sittings.
    • Tradesmen and women must also have a Trade Test or City and Guilds certificate.
    • Provide a valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, a hospital, local government, or an age declaration.
    • Be aged 18–22 years for non-trades applicants, and not older than 26 years for tradesmen and women as of June 30, 2025.
    • Applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.65 metres tall for men and women respectively.
    • Applicants must possess a valid State of origin certificate.

Method of Application for Qualified Candidates

Registration is conducted online and the application portal is currently open. The process is completely FREE. Please note each applicant is allowed to apply only once—submitting multiple applications will result in immediate disqualification.

Follow these 6 simple steps to Apply:

  1. Apply online via the recruitment portal: https://recruitment.army.mil.ng
  2. Login on the above mentioned link using the username and password
  3. Scroll down to “89RRI Recruitment”
  4. Click “Apply Now”
  5. Complete the application form, submit online and print a copy. Then print and complete the Guarantor form as appropriate
  6. Ensure you bring duly signed copies of the application and guarantor form to the designated state recruitment centers

All Candidates must Note:

Please note the following important guidelines for the Nigerian Army recruitment exercise:

  • There will be no pre-selection computer-based test and no special recruitment centers.
  • Screening will take place only in each candidate’s state of origin, and electronic or recording devices are not allowed at the venue.
  • Candidates must not have tattoos or bodily inscriptions, must present original educational certificates, and must not belong to any cult, society, or fraternity.
  • Any candidate found with forged documents at any stage will be disqualified and withdrawn from training.
  • Do not offer money or inducements to anyone for recruitment assistance, and ensure you bring your NIN slip to the screening venue.
  • Names of shortlisted candidates who would participate in the State recruitment screening will be published on the Nigerian Army website for the awareness of all candidates
  • Shortlisted candidates would be expected to report to their respective State of origin for the screening exercise from 2nd June – 16th June 2025.
